Where to Watch the World Cup: McDuffy’s Grille in Chandler

McDuffy’s Grille will open at 7 a.m. for any First Round World Cup match in which the United States, Mexico, or England is playing. They will also open early for confirmed groups of 12 or more. Otherwise, McDuffy’s will open at 11 a.m. and will air all World Cup matches that are on during normal operating hours. They will also show replays of matches that are aired later in the day. Their operating schedule may be subject to change after the conclusion of the first round.

McDuffy’s has more than 27 TVs–two of which are 60-inch screens, 12 are 42-inch screens, and the rest are 32-inch screens. World Cup viewing will be the primary viewing activity at McDuffy’s whenever matches are on and all World Cup matches will be shown in High Definition. Sound will be provided for all USA, Mexico, and England matches and almost all other matches that are shown live. If two matches are on concurrently, sound may be provided for only one of them unless both are of equal local interest, then they will be shown in separate areas of the restaurant.

A special brunch menu will be served until 2:30 p.m. on every day McDuffy’s opens early at 7 a.m., as well as every Saturday and Sunday. They are also planning to run special promotions during specific matches.

McDuffy’s Grille will be one of the sites for a mega USA-ENGLAND VIEWING PARTY on June 12, 2010, hosted by the UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM, PHOENIX REGIONAL SPORTS COMMISSION, and ARIZONA SPORTS & TOURISM AUTHORITY, with assistance provided by MLS PHOENIX RISING, as part of the Go USA Bid effort to bring the World Cup back to the USA and Phoenix-Glendale in 2018 or 2022.

The owner of McDuffy’s Grille, Scott Adams, is a long-time local soccer fan, player, and coach and is a supporter and member of MLS PHOENIX RISING. He has been to two World Cups (1994 and 2006) and attended the Women’s World Cup in 1999. He’d like MLSPR members to know that McDuffy’s Grille is both soccer-friendly and family-friendly and that they always have $2 domestic drafts, 20 total drafts, a full bar, a large menu, a kids’ menu, and will be running several promotions during the World Cup.
